In organisations
with a number of users in the IT support team, several users may need the
ability to administer certain aspects of CN Pro without having the rights to
configure all aspects.

Note The
Admin login is always present and cannot be removed. Keep its password safe. |
Additional
administrative users can be added with only partial rights.
To create a new
administrative user, select New
Administrator from the Administrators
submenu as shown in Figure 5.29.

This will open the New Administrator page (Figure 5.30)

Figure 5.30 - Creating a new Admin User
To create a new
Admin User, enter a unique Username
and Password and select the rights for
that user. Figure 5.30 shows a user called reports
who only has the right to view reports and nothing else.
Place the rights for
the user in the Allow box and click Add Administrator. A message will
confirm the success, or otherwise, of the creation. Click Continue to open the Manage
Administrators page (Figure 5.31).

Rights for the admin user cannot be changed nor can the
admin user be deleted (Removed). All other administrative users
can be Updated or Removed.
Do not allow logins to the control panel to
expire: If you tick this
check box your login session with the CensorNet web interface will never time out. We recommend that if
you do set this option, you ensure that you log out yourself when not at your
workstation. Otherwise your users may
re-configure your policies.
When an
Administrative user logs in, they still see the normal overview page but if
they attempt to navigate to a page for which they do not have the rights, a Permission Denied message will be
displayed (Figure 5.32).
