Filter Bypass Module

When using NTLM Authentication, or some other authentication methods, the web site may not interact well with CN Pro.  For this situation, CN Pro provides the Filter Bypass Module. This module allows categories to be created, to which a selection of specific URLs can then be added.

Figure 8.14 shows the Filter Bypass submenu.

Choosing the Bypass Categories option will display a page similar to that in figure 8.15.

To add a new category, simply type its name and click the Add button.  To delete a category, select the checkbox next to its name in the Existing Categories section and click Delete Selected.

To add URLs to a category, choose the Bypass URL Manager option from the submenu.  This will bring up the page in figure 8.16.

Enter a URL here in exactly the same way as in the Custom URL Filter.

Note

Whilst this module looks very like the Custom URL module, it is very important not to confuse the two.  Anything added to the Bypass Filter Module is global and applies to everybody.  Also, any URLs entered here are totally unfiltered.

Used with care, this module will allow access to those few sites that may have difficulty authenticating with CN Pro.  If in doubt, try using the Custom URL module first and leave the Filter Bypass Module as a last resort.
