Image Filter Sensitivity

The image filter sensitivity setting is global for the entire system and allows you to control just how sensitive you wish the Active Image Control (AIC) to be.

This works in conjunction with the High/Low sensitivity settings configurable on a per policy basis.

In order to explain it, a brief description of the algorithm will be given.

When an image is scanned, the AIC module returns a value.  With the policy setting set to “High”, any value above 300 is deemed pornographic.  With the policy setting set to “Low” any value above 600 is deemed pornographic.

With the new sensitivity control, the percentage values determine just how sensitive the AIC is in reacting to these values; the higher the value the more sensitive the filter.  The default setting is 70%.  Note that when you modify the settings, the Proxy will be re-started, causing a brief outage in throughput for your users.
