Managing User Groups

Figure 5.4 - The Group Management Page

Figure 5.4 shows the important aspects of the Group Management page. Across the top are listed filtering options (A..Z, 0..9, ALL). These can be used to limit the number of groups displayed when there are a lot of groups. Clicking on a letter or number will display only those groups that start with that letter or number.

The checkbox to the left of the group name can be used to select a group. Selected groups can be moved to Trash by pressing the Commit Changes button.

To the right of the group name is the Policy column. By default, no policy is assigned to a group. To define a schedule policy for a group, click on the Edit Schedule button by for that group. The Schedule Editor screen will appear (see Working with Schedules).

To the right of the Policy column is the bandwidth limit.

Note

Bandwidth limits are set at group level, but apply to each individual within a group, not to the group as a whole. For example, if the limit is set to 128Kbps then each member of that group would be able to use a maximum of 128Kbps.

Note

If the Custom option is chosen, a specific value must be entered. The default is 8000 (this is 8000 bits/sec or the equivalent of 8Kbps). Values entered are treated as bits per second.
