The File Type Filter contains the global
list of file extensions that can be either blocked or unblocked. The actual
blocking or unblocking is activated in the File
Type Filter within a policy (see Working with Policies).
The File Type Filter page is used to
add new file extensions or delete them from the list.
Figures 8.9 and 8.10
show the top and bottom of the page respectively.

To add a new
extension, simply enter the extension into the box and click Add (Figure 8.8). To delete an extension,
or selection of extensions, click on the tick box next to the extensions to be
deleted and press the Delete Selection
button. Once an extension is deleted, it
is no longer available in any policy.

Note Adding
an extension in this page does NOT
block the file types associated with the extension, it just makes it
available for selection when creating or editing a policy. |
