The MIME Type Filter

 

The MIME Type Filter page controls the various types of downloads (see Figure 6.11). When a user requests a file, the server normally responds by telling the browser what type of file is to be downloaded. Irrespective of what name it has, the MIME Type normally indicates what sort of content a file has, and this allows the browser to fire up the necessary helper application if necessary. CN Pro provides the capability to block files of various types and comes with a large selection of MIME Types to which additional ones can be added (see Working with Filters).
